Hey friends — it’s Pride weekend here in Woodstock, and we’re gearing up for a big, glorious gay weekend. The parade will wind through town and end up at Colony, which is a great club in town, where I’ll emcee the Pride show. Friends are coming in from out of town and the vibe is high. I hope you feel a boost from today’s newsletter—-we all can use a boost. —Enjoy!
Pleaese check out these kites. Amazing.
Dave Brubeck’s home in Connectcut is on the market, and boy is it a beauty.
OK, here she comes, kids. JLo as the the Spider Woman. What do we think?
Edmund White, the novelist and great chronicler of gay life, has died at the age of 85.
I’m learning about the historic pigeon houses (dovecotes or in French, pigeonairres) of Toulouse, France. Fascinating.
One of my favorite Bowie vocals, Wild is the Wind, live from 2000. And here he is thirty years earlier with Space Oddity.
In my mind, I can do this:
The amazing new V & A East Storehouse in London. Let’s. Go. Now.
I beg you to watch this: the UK’s Best Pub Pianist, 1981.
New York Times piece on Ella Fitzgerald, featuring mini essays by a selection of folks sharing fave tracks.
Best. Birdhouse. Ever. (Found online, not sure who made it.)
What’s better than peony season? Pic taken by me at my friend’s place in Woodstock.
Thanks for tuning in, and if you want a tiny taste of how I’m feeling this weekend, here ya go. — Chris
